Don’t worry, I haven’t got rid of Rob Dinsdale, he’s still around. However, I am happy to announce that Rob has reached out and formed an alliance with Caitlin Blasdell of Liza Dawson Associates, who’ll be handling affairs relating to North America. This is excellent news, and I look forward to working with Caitlin in my ongoing quest for world domination.
Regarding that, it seems like a reasonable time to officially announce, for those that are interested, that I’m coming to the end of working on a fantasy novel. I don’t want to share too many details at this stage, but I wanted to create a diverse world with rich and varied cultures, and I think I might have succeeded. Also, there are dragons. It’s about hope, essentially: I wanted to write something which actually felt like there is the potential for things to get better. Although that said, the path won’t necessarily be easy.
Finally, I am DELIGHTED that a short story of mine will be featured in Black Library’s upcoming relaunch edition of Inferno!, a magazine I consumed greedily during its first run in the 90s. My Necromunda novella ‘WANTED: DEAD’ should also be out later in the year, and I am absolutely over the moon to confirm that a contract has been signed and I am even now (well, not right now, I’m updating this website) working on my first Black Library novel. Everything to do with that is very hush-hush and under a non-disclosure agreement, of course, but I can say that it’s set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, and touches on areas of the background that I don’t think have been hugely explored before, so that’s quite exciting.
Now, one more week of day job to get through, and then the World Cup…
Great news on the fantasy novel, although it saddens me a tiny bit to see you go the Richard K. Morgan way… 😉 (Leaving scifi after a successful trilogy to shenanigan up the fantasy world!)
Is there any hope for a fourth installment in the Keiko universe in future?
And: Although I do live in Germany for 2 decades now, with Hungarian background I do keep fingers crossed for the UK team. And Iceland of course 😀
Kia ora Mike just discovered your books. Enjoying Dark Sky right now. You’ve probably already been told: our national anthem is God Defend NZ, NOT God Save NZ. You got the Maori version ok though. Kia kaha ehoa. Noho ora ra, na Jenni
Hi! Yes, I was made aware of that… I managed to get it corrected for the US release, at least! My apologies, and thanks for reading.
